Grill 41 at Lord Elgin Hotel

Between the central locale afforded by its gracious home in the landmark Lord Elgin Hotel, a warm and yet contemporary ambience, a locally sourced menu and a casual-to-sophisticated stocked cellar, Grill 41 has become one of Ottawa’s top new restaurants.

Named Grill 41 in recognition of the year, 1941, that the Lord Elgin was built, the restaurant features a modern environment and classic menu that is a perfect match for connecting with new and familiar faces. Guests are able to relax in the inviting lounge with flat screen TVs and large windows overlooking Elgin Street or enjoy an intimate dinner or a group get together in the dining area. With a capacity of close to 150, the restaurant features booths and banquette seating to allow flexibility to accommodate guest needs whether they are popping in for lunch, a quick after-work cool-down, a pre-theatre warm-up or an evening night cap. Grill 41 also includes a private dining room for up to 30 guests.

Chef’s Bio





Executive Chef

Neil is a F&B expert with over 20 years of global experience in the industry. Neil joins us most recently from Novotel Toronto-Vaughan where he was Executive Chef & F&B Director. Previously a Culinary Instructor and Academic Advisor for Algonquin College in Ottawa, Ontario. Neil has also worked with various companies as Executive Chef including the Holiday Inn & Suites Kanata, The British Colonial Hilton in Nassau, Bahamas and the Nairobi Hilton in Kenya. Neil has been named the ‘Chef of the Year’ for Ottawa by both the CCFCC Ottawa and the Ottawa Restaurant Association for his contributions to the trade over the years.



Sous Chef

Our Sous Chef Jacques Landriault is a dedicated Canadian Chef with 20 years of culinary experience. He joins us most recently from the Holiday Inn & Suites, Kanata where he held the title of Sous Chef Banquets. Previously, he worked at the Holiday Inn 67th in Red Deer, Alberta where he was Sous chef. Jacques brings to Grill 41 his extensive knowledge of Italian and French Canadian cuisine along with his vast experience of customer service, menu creativity and banquet operations.



Director of Food & Beverage

Jennifer has worked with the Lord Elgin Hotel for the past 12 years functioning in various roles successfully executing several types of events, such as weddings, receptions, galas and more. Her expertise is supported by her many years in the hotel industry managing both hotel restaurants and catering teams. Jennifer works with her team to provide quality service with each guest interaction no matter how big or how small.
